Stacking your Squad

Hi Folks,

Happy Hump Day!

The older I get, the more I realize how important the relationships I keep are. While I’ve had friends and relationships come and go over the last 25 years, there is something significant to be said for the ones that stick.

I like to think I have a pretty good judge of character. That being said, I also like to think that my squad is pretty stacked. I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by a number of women AND men that love me, challenge me, support me and help me grow. The bonds I have now are some of the most meaningful I’ve ever had because I’m now old enough to sift through relationships that don’t provide value.

I came across this mantra on twitter that really resonated with me, especially now. “Real Queens fix each other’s crowns.”

Too often people get too caught up in rising to the top or being better, prettier, skinnier or smarter than those around them. While it is incredibly important to be passionate and driven, it is equally important to build relationships that help you grow.

I am fiercely loyal and a lot of my happiness comes from seeing those around me be happy. Not to toot my own horn, but I truly think that is one of my best qualities. When I am building relationships with people, it’s important to me that they are independent, but also support me. While this quote has a female connotation, it really is the same for the entire spectrum of gender.

It’s so important to help the people you love grow to realize their own potential, but also make sure they help you become the best person you can be. Surround yourself with strong people and you’ll be amazed at how much you all can teach each other.

I’m so lucky to have squads in many aspects of my life that help me flourish from all over the planet. And that truly is a #blessed feeling.

Sending strong squad vibes your way,

Paige xx
