Bouncing Back with Barre

Hey Folks,

Since I got back from Ireland 2 years ago, I really struggled to get back on the fitness train. Prior to heading over the pond, I was working so much that I really could eat whatever I wanted and was pretty in shape; I never had to worry about making time for the gym because A. I didn’t seem to have ANY free time and B. I didn’t feel the need.

I’ve tried a number of things since, but nothing really sticks. I’ve tried gym memberships with classes, the elliptical, etc, but it is really hard to do while also working a full time job. I’m not saying it’s not doable, it has just been a really big struggle of mine. Since returning, I’ve put on weight and my overall mindset is just not what it used to be because I just feel tired and out of shape all of the time.

One of my best friends is a Barre believer because it truly changed her life. She is stronger, has a clearer mind and has built a community with the other gals in the class that she looks forward to seeing each morning.

After hearing her testament to the work out program, I decided to tag along with her to a class. I fell so in love. The motivation, positivity and work out cannot be compared to anything else. I’ve taken barre classes before that I have really enjoyed, but this is SO different. The instructors are invested in YOU. They want YOU to be the best you that you can be.

While I have only just become a “new member”, this time I feel committed. I have cancelled my other gym membership and even get up over an hour earlier than I normally do to get to class. It truly opens your mind to focus and my ability to concentrate comes so much more easily.

I struggle with anxiety so I do find solace in working out. It allows me to expel negative energy and scary thoughts and helps me live a normal life. This was also a HUGE reason why I needed to find something that worked for me.

I’m confident that this is the start of a beautiful new journey. I am so excited to join this incredible, inspiring group of women while also getting back to the me I know and want to be.

    Great post! I think I might give it a try too. So hard working full time and squeezing in time to stay in shape. Especially when the bagels are calling me on the weekends. 😂
