Adulting is Hard

Hey Folks,

I think you can tell by the title of this entry why I haven’t posted in so long. Say it with me now – ADULTING IS HARD.

As I come up on my year anniversary of being a fully employed, (semi) functioning adult, I’ve learned quite a bit about the real world.

Furnishing an apartment is hard. Moving lots of furniture is hard. Paying Bills on time is hard. Changing all of your mailing addresses is hard. Waking up early is hard. Working a full day is hard. Working 40+ hour weeks is hard. Taking out the garbage on time is hard. Doing laundry at a laundromat is hard. Budgeting your paycheck is hard. ADULTING IS HARD.

While it’s taken almost a solid year to adjust, I wouldn’t change a single thing for the world. Ya know why? I love my apartment. I love Hoboken. I love living with someone I love who is going through it all with me. I love my couch, futon and bed. I love my breakfast bar. I love my job. I love my coworkers. I love after work beers. I love my friends going through the same transitional time as me. I love my family members who know exactly what its like because they’ve been here too.

While I wasn’t ready to “adult” quite yet after graduating, I finally made it and I could not be happier with the outcome. Looking to the road ahead, the future seems bright and I’m psyched to be on the journey. It is definitely worth the ride.

    I hear you 🙂 but I love being an adult. I’ve never felt happier or more in control my life.

    My man and I are starting new job plus me going back to university and moving from our sweet home to a flat 3 hours away (we’ll have 5 days to move and nothings packed!) but I know we’ll be alright cause we’re doing it together 🙂 wish us luck!

      Totally agree! For the most part, it’s awesome being your own independent person. It’s just sometimes you have those days that just get ya down. Being an adult is pretty awesome.

      I wish you tons of luck on your new adventure 🙂 You have each other and that’s what’s important!
